What Is A DIGGS Art Show?

DIGGS provides a professional gallery environment for Local Art Shows in Montrose. Our Loft Style office features tons of natural light, a professional lighting and hanging system and a airy open floor plan perfect for enjoying the art.

Who Gets An Art Show At DIGGS?

DIGGS invites artists local to Glendale, La Crescenta and the Foothills to display their work for approximately six weeks, individually or in groups. We also offer our space to the artist(s) to host their own reception. DIGGS takes a gallery fee of 30% for work sold during the show and then donates that fee to a local non-profit of the artist’s choosing. Interested parties can fill out the form below.

Why Art Shows at DIGGS?

It might seem confusing. DIGGS is a real estate office, so what’s up with the art shows, right?

Buying and selling a home is stressful and a bit scary for most people. Most people move for life reasons, and those reasons are stressful enough on their own. Having a real estate advisor you truly trust – and environment that feels supportive, not salesy, can make a big difference.

Our Art Shows gives us the chance to meet people in our community well before they might need us for a life move. Attendees enjoy the art and become familiar with the DIGGS brand- it is clear we are not your average real estate company.

Donating The Gallery Fee To Local Non Profits

The other reason for the shows – and a completely unplanned plesant consequence…

My first artist, Nancy Grubb, told me I HAD to charge a gallery fee or artists wouldn’t take me seriously. We argued over the fee – I wanted to charge 10%, she recommended 50% – and then settled on 30%. I figured it was harmless, how many paintings would sell at a real estate office?

Boy, was  surprised! Our first show sold a few thousand dollars in paintings. Nancy and I decided to donate the DIGGS Gallery Fee to the American Cancer Society and we were off to the races.

Since then we have raised thousands of dollars and encourage our artists to select local non-profit organizations.
