HISTORIC HOMES FOR SALE IN GLENDALE
Sorry we are experiencing system issues. Please try again.
The Rossmoyne is generally considered the regular streets bordered by Brand Blvd, Mountain Ave, Ethel St, and Greenbriar. Royal Canyon (historic district) is right next door and also contains amazing character homes steeped in Glendale history. Many consider these two neighborhoods as one.
WHAT PEOPLE LOVE
Anyone looking for historic homes and high end real estate for sale comes to Rossmoyne. There is rich history here – it is one of the first neighborhoods in the city of Glendale and it is a designated historic neighborhood, protecting the rich architectural heritage. The city commissioned a study into the history of the Rossmoyne.
Royal Canyon is another designated historic home neighborhood that borders Rossmoyne on the eastside.
People love living in an area with so many gorgeous character homes located on wide tree-lined boulevards. Early evening strolls are a common activity with people stopping to chat with neighbors. Nibly Park is at the heart of the Rossmoyne and features one of the nicest (and shadiest) play structures as well as two tennis courts and ample picnic space.
Rossmyone is part of the Glendale Unified School District. It is aligned with R.D. White Elementary school (named a California Distingushed School 2018), Woodrow Wilson is the middle school (A FLAG school for Armenian and Japanese languae immersion) and Glendale High School was recently named US News and World Report, Silver Medal, America’s Best High Schools. BTW, if you EVER get the chance to attend Glendale HS Dance recital, go. Those kids are crazy talanted and it’s better than an episode of So You Think You Can Dance.
The Rossmoyne is one of the most uniformly lovely neighborhoods in Glendale CA. Interesting historic homes for sale on generous city lots are situated on wide tree-lined streets. Spanish, Mediterranean, English Tudor, Craftsman and French Chateau co-exist peacefully together.
In general, the more modest entry-level homes are located closer to Glenoaks Blvd and Ethyl Street. Home sizes and values tend to increase as you approach Mountain Ave.
If you appreciate historic architecture I encourage a drive through Royal Canyon. There are just thirty homes in the Royal Canyon Historic District, but they are amongst the most beautiful character homes in all the land.
