La Crescenta CA:
La Crescenta is located within the zip code 91214 and bills itself as “The Balcony of Southern California”. If you are on the 210 freeway traveling west, the neighborhood begins at the La Crescenta Ave. and ends at Lowell Ave. and is nestled at the base of the Angeles National Forest. The neighborhood still feels like a sleepy mountain community, even though it long ago matured into a suburb for neighboring Glendale.
What People Love
Outdoor activities are a big attraction, here. The Angeles National Forest, Deukmejian Wilderness Area and tons of interesting and easy hiking trails are almost literally in our backyard.
La Crescenta schools are another big draw to this area. Most rank 8 or 9 on Great Schools, but the bigger measure is the parent involvement and reviews. Glendale Unified is the governing school district, but the schools attached to 91214 are consistently ranked the highest.
Perhaps this focus on family and schools creates the small town feel. Families and businesses are often several generations deep and the Crescenta Valley Town Council is active and influential.
Home styles are varied and eclectic. We have everything from 1920’s fieldstone cottages to newer built executive homes. Neighborhood streets are mostly straight and uniform, but sidewalks and street lights are not common.
The median price is about $900,000 in early 2019 (according to Zillow). The newest listings available in La Crescenta are below.
