La Crescenta Homes For Sale

People search La Crescenta Homes For Sale because they crave a mountain community just minutes from Urban Los Angeles

La Crescenta is located within the zip code 91214 and bills itself as “The Balcony of Southern California”. If you are on the 210 freeway traveling west, the neighborhood begins at the La Crescenta Ave. and ends at Lowell Ave. and is nestled at the base of the Angeles National Forest. The neighborhood still feels like a sleepy mountain community, even though it long ago matured into a suburb for neighboring Glendale.

There is an interesting location anamoly – the western half of 91214 is legally a Glendale Ca neighborhood and is officially called Crescenta Highlands. The dividing line between the County Unincorporated part of La Crescenta and the part that is City of Glendale is Pennsylvania.

What People Love

Outdoor activities are a big attraction, here. The Angeles National Forest, Deukmejian Wilderness Area and tons of interesting and easy hiking trails are almost literally in our backyard. Also, we have the best dog park in the region.

La Crescenta schools are another big draw to this area. Most rank 8 or 9 on Great Schools, but the bigger measure is the parent involvement and reviews. Glendale Unified is the governing school district, but the schools attached to 91214 are consistently ranked the highest.

Perhaps this focus on family and schools creates the small town feel. Families and businesses are often several generations deep and the Crescenta Valley Town Council is active and influential.

La Crescenta (and the Crescenta Highlands) belong to the Glendale Unified School District, although most people assume there is a separate district. La Crescenta is a destination neighborhood for school minded families because every school is coveted.

There are five elementary schools in the area and all are considered top-shelf.  Rosemont Middle School is considered the top school in the district as is Crescenta Valley High School. Clark Magnet High School rounds out the mix.

Home styles are varied and eclectic. We have everything from 1920’s fieldstone cottages to newer built executive homes. Neighborhood streets are mostly straight and uniform, but sidewalks and street lights are not common.

La Crescenta also has the largest inventory of condos and townhomes for sale.
