Here in Los Angeles, there are plenty of ways to enjoy your summer in the sweltering sunny rays of California. However, we believe that one of the best options to beat the summer heat is by making a trip down to a beautiful and refreshing beach! Pack your tote bags, find your swimsuits, and wear lots of sunscreen; this is going to be an epic summer! Here is a list of some of our favorite nearby beaches, as well as what each one has to offer for your summer day-cay trip!
Dockweiler Beach:
Dockweiler Beach is definitely one of the best evening/night beaches in Southern California! Offering a three mile shoreline, beautiful waves, a picnic area, and a concession stand; Dockweiler is very popular with family visitors. Dockweiler has camping facilities for RV’s only, but its location is on the beachfront. This is also one of the few beaches that permits bonfires, so get ready to break out the marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers!
Doheny State Beach:
This large beachfront park has a campground on the south side, where some of the campsites are only steps away from the beach. Doheny is one of the only beaches that allows tent camping. It can also accommodate RVs and trailers up to 35 feet long. The only downside at Doheny is that big events are sometimes held there, which disrupts camping and vehicle access.
Hermosa Beach:
One of our favorite beaches in the area would have to be Hermosa Beach.This beach is one of the cleanest and most beautiful in Southern California! If you like sunbathing, volleyball, surfing, or even paddle-boarding, Hermosa Beach is a great location to spend a hot summer day. www.hermosabch.org
