Fremont Elementary School borders the south end of the neighborhood and is one of the most sought out schools in the Glendale Ca school district. It is award-winning, relatively small and intimate, and has a vibrant community of involved parents and teachers.

There are homes for sale in Montrose CA outside of Sparr Heights. These neighborhoods tend to be more rural in character with larger, less regular, lots. The architectural styles and sizes are also more varied and eclectic and include some of the areas finest mid-century homes.
Neighborhoods feature diverse types of character homes like Spanish, Craftsman, Post War Cottage and English Cottage. Streets are wide and manicured and parks are everywhere. Other neighborhoods that make up North Glendale are Montecito Park, Oakmont Woods, Oakmont Country Club, Whiting Woods, Glenwood Oaks and Sycamore Woods.
