Welcome to Verdugo Woodlands:

The Verdugo Woodlands is a real community that bonds together.  Gorgeous streets, lovely homes, great schools and diverse, quirky people.

Verdugo Woodlands is widely thought of as the “Storybook Homes” neighborhood located just north of Glendale Community College.

The iconic part of the Woodlands is located west of Canada Blvd., off streets like Opechee, Wabasso and Don Carlos.  These streets are characterized by the lush tree canopy, graciously maintained character homes and abundant deer, birds and other native wildlife.

The Verdugo Woodlands also encompasses the neighborhoods to the east of Canada and along Verdugo Rd.

People love living in the tight-knit Glendale CA neighborhood of the Verdugo Woodlands. The Woodlands is a place where evening walks take forever because you always run into someone you know. There are few sidewalks or streetlights and the whole neighborhood feels like a country community.

There are a lot of attractions and destinations within a small area. On the south end lies Glendale Community College and Verdugo Park, one of the largest and most popular parks in Glendale. During the summer the city hosts live music and movie events for the community. The Oakmont Country Club anchors the north end and has an award-winning Women’s PGA Approved course. The kooky and utterly wonderful Dad’s Club is a special place located next to the Stengel Ball Field.

Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School is one of those special places your children will remember forever. It is relatively small and has a wonderful mix of cultures, social economic classes and personalities. They are also a dual language immersion program for Japanese. Their parents are so dedicated and involved they put on the Father’s Follies every year as a huge fund raiser. Think Middle Aged Dads In Drag Singing Pop Tunes. Woodrow Wilson is the middle school (A FLAG school for Armenian and Japanese languae immersion) and Glendale High School was recently named US News and World Report, Silver Medal, America’s Best High Schools. BTW, if you EVER get the chance to attend Glendale HS Dance recital, go. Those kids are crazy talanted and it’s better than an episode of So You Think You Can Dance.

The Verdugo Woodlands is filled with character homes – Cape Cod infused traditional homes, Spanish Style, California Ranch and Post and Beam Mid Century co-exist peacefully on wide country lanes.

Lots tend to be a bit larger than the average city lot, and there are plenty of large lots or lots with privacy, even some views!
